In the practice of medicine, in particular, a holistic approach has quickly gained notice and popularity. Many practitioners embrace a holistic approach to the treatment of their patients. Holistic health schools have arisen to fill the need for training in this new way of practicing healing.

There are several levels of degrees and certification training in holistic health. From acupuncture and acupressure, to reflexology, training is targeted at certain branches of knowledge and can vary from a few weeks, to three years.

Being that holistic health professionals view each person as whole and unique individuals, these professionals need not only be trained in a variety of approaches, but must also possess caring, empathetic and honest qualities to begin with.
